The Lake Taupō Forest Trust’s role is to deliver benefits to the descendants of landowners who pooled their resources to create a large forestry operation in the late 1960s.
Through succession and registration, we now have just over 15,000 ‘’owners’’ who we seek to assist in a variety of ways, including at marae and whānau level, financially and in other ways like providing training and opportunities for development.
Education has always been a priority for the Tūrangi-headquartered Trust, and annual grants to help students through tertiary studies have assisted many hundreds over recent decades.
Our goal of looking after those in our maraes and communities, especially as they grow older, has led to targeted assistance.
The Trust continues to look at new and wider ways to pass on benefits to descendants as succession numbers grow.
